About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Compliance Officer to lead the technical governance of product compliance across the Group. This is a key role responsible for ensuring that all products are fully tested, certified, and legally compliant prior to release to market. You will act as the primary technical interface between the business, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations while supporting new product development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain all third-party product certifications and accreditations across the Group
- Lead the technical certification pathway for new products, including:
- Factory Production Control
- Product testing
- Safety FMEA
- Engagement with Notified Bodies
Performance & Accountability
- Deliver new product certifications in line with agreed development and launch plans
- Ensure all certifications and accreditations remain accurate, current, and compliant throughout the product lifecycle
- Minimise non-conformances during external audits and ensure effective corrective actions
- Complete clear and robust legislative impact assessments for regulatory updates
- Protect the business from risk associated with non-compliance, fines, or certification withdrawal
About You
Essential:
- Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering or Construction (or equivalent experience)
- Hands-on experience in product compliance, certification, or regulatory roles
- Strong working knowledge of:
- UKCA and CE conformity marking
- Product testing and certification to BS/EN/ISO standards
- UK Building Regulations (ADB, ADF, ADL, ADQ)
Desirable:
- PRINCE2 or equivalent project-management qualification
- Experience within PVCu window and door systems or extrusion processes
- Understanding of sealed unit and glass manufacturing
- Experience using ERP, PLM, or compliance data-management systems
Working Arrangements
Occasional nationwide travel, with some overnight stays. Flexibility required to work outside normal hours when necessary.
