We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing operation, providing effective preventive and reactive maintenance across site to support production performance and equipment reliability.

Role Purpose

To deliver high-quality mechanical and electrical maintenance support, working closely with production and engineering teams to prioritise work, minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical fault finding, diagnosis and repairs on plant and machinery
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules and engineering standards
  • Support reactive maintenance and breakdown response to minimise production downtime
  • Identify failure trends and implement actions to reduce breakdowns, stoppages and quality defects
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability enhancements
  • Support mechanical and electrical project work as required
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering and supervisory teams to prioritise work
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors for technical support, spares and services
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments are current and adhered to
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work areas and workshops

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Apprentice-trained or NVQ / C&G qualified (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Multi-skilled mechanical and electrical capability
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role
  • Experience of proactive and reactive maintenance and PPM/TPM
  • Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics
  • Strong focus on health & safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • Good communication skills and a flexible, adaptable approach

Desirable:

  • HNC (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • PLC fault-finding/diagnostics
  • CMMS experience
  • Welding (MIG/TIG), machining (milling/turning)
  • Manufacturing experience within extrusion, glass or window environments
  • MEWP, FLT, crane or side-loader licences
