The Role

As a Design Engineer, you'll be involved in the full product lifecycle—from early-stage concept development through to testing, certification, manufacturing, and installation. Working within a collaborative technical team, you'll create high-quality designs, develop technical documentation, and provide engineering support across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the full product design lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through to production launch
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs (Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD)
  • Create and maintain manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
  • Develop and manage product specifications, system parameters, and technical data
  • Assist with product testing, certification, and validation processes
  • Support the transition of new products into full-scale manufacturing
  • Provide technical advice and problem-solving support across the business
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • HNC/HND in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in a design engineering role or relevant degree-based experience
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (ideally Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD)
  • Experience producing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Degree in Engineering or similar
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Knowledge of the building, glazing, or home improvement sector
  • Advanced CAD experience and familiarity with Autodesk Vault
