About the Role

We're looking for a motivated Material Controller Apprentice to join our growing Supply Chain team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start a career in logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain operations. Working under the supervision of the Supply Chain Management team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and components are available to support manufacturing, while maintaining accurate stock control and efficient inventory processes. You'll also work towards a nationally recognised Supply Chain Apprenticeship qualification, gaining hands-on experience and building valuable industry skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving and booking in goods (Goods In)
  • Carrying out material quality control checks
  • Supporting stock level management and inventory control
  • Ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely in line with Health & Safety regulations
  • Reporting stock discrepancies, variances, or supply issues
  • Following internal quality and claims procedures
  • Maintaining clean, organised, and safe storage locations
  • Replenishing materials and parts to manufacturing production lines
  • Conducting regular stock counts and cycle counts
  • Supporting general warehouse and supply chain operations as required

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, organised, and proactive
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Desirable

  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, warehouse systems)
