We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Service Scheduler to become an integral part of our dynamic Service Operations Department. In this role, you will take full ownership of optimising the daily schedules for our field engineers, ensuring that our resources are deployed effectively and our clients receive timely service. As a primary point of contact for both clients and engineers, you will be the “nerve centre” of our operations by resolving scheduling conflicts, managing logistics, and identifying opportunities to streamline our processes. If you have exceptional diary management skills, thrive in a high-pressure environment, and love the challenge of solving complex logistical puzzles, we want to hear from you.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for client enquiries and engineer updates regarding site visits.
- Monitor live workloads to identify potential delays or issues before they impact the client.
- Review work orders, job assignments, and part orders to ensure data accuracy.
- Liaise with the procurement team to ensure necessary parts and equipment are available for scheduled jobs.
- Attend weekly department meetings (Level 10) to report on key scheduling metrics and KPIs (e.g., first-time fix rates and engineer utilisation).
About You
You are a logistical maestro who enjoys the fast-paced nature of a busy service desk. You don’t just fill gaps in a diary; you look for the most efficient way to keep our engineers moving and our clients happy. To be successful in this role, you should be:
- Capable of translating technical updates into clear client communication and coordinating with busy engineers in the field.
- Possessing a “measure twice, cut once” mindset, ensuring that every work order and part request is accurate before it hits the system.
- Having at least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced scheduling role and able to juggle multiple priorities without breaking a sweat.
- Comfortable using CRM or Field Service Management (FSM) software to track performance and manage complex workflows.
- Proud of your work and always looking for ways to “work smarter, not harder” to improve department efficiency.
- Having a good understanding of the geography of London and the Home Counties.
