Anglian Demolition & Asbestos Limited is looking for a Manager of Health & Safety to join our Company based in Attleborough, Norfolk, NR17 1AN. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide guidance to Directors, Managers, and employees on matters related to safety, health, welfare, and the environment. This ensures the Company meets its legal obligations within the construction industry and its broader core services. The ideal candidate will have strong health and safety expertise, coupled with practical operational experience. They should be adept at engaging with clients, management teams, site teams, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the Manager of H&S should demonstrate excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong interpersonal and motivational abilities. Key Responsibilities/Requirements Offer expert advice and guidance to Directors, Managers, and employees on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) issues to ensure legal compliance across all Company activities Develop, maintain, and update the Company’s written Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy Demonstrate visible leadership in HSE matters and consistently lead by example Integrate ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 standards into Company operations. Implement, audit, and continuously improve processes to maintain relevant accreditations Conduct regular compliance audits on offices, projects, and sites Advise on and support the development of safe systems of work, ensuring proper record-keeping for compliance, especially in demolition, asbestos management, and waste recycling. Assist in creating risk assessments and method statements while training staff to uphold Company standards Ensure compliance with Anglian’s Licence to Work with Asbestos Monitor and audit on-site HSE performance, using results to establish and uphold minimum standards. Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for HSE, set objectives and targets, track progress, and report outcomes to Directors. Deliver briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives to promote a strong HSE culture Encourage employee engagement to foster a positive safety culture Prepare evidence for third-party accreditation submissions (e.g., CHAS, SMAS, NFDC, ARCA, Builders Profile, ConstructionLine) and participate in audits as needed Support Directors and Managers by providing HSE information for tenders Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement measures to prevent recurrence Qualifications & Experience At least 5 years relevant health, safety and environmental management experience Previous experience within the construction industry (desirable) Previous experience within demolition, asbestos management and audits (desirable) NEBOSH construction certificate minimum qualification Relevant CSCS card and SMSTS qualification (desirable) Strong management, leadership and organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively with employees, clients, stakeholders, subcontractors and third-party auditors and bodies.
