If youâre interested in construction or looking to learn a trade, this could be the opportunity for you! We are excited to offer new opportunities for Window Installer Apprentices to join our team. This is a fullâtime, fixedâterm position for 18 months. As an apprentice, youâll study towards and complete the relevant qualification with dedicated support from a mentor, including a minimum of 6 hours of study or offâtheâjob training per week.
Role Overview
You will work alongside an experienced Installer team to learn the skills required to fit and install windows and doors in residential properties. From understanding the workflow process and collecting materials from the depot to removing old windows and fitting new ones, youâll gain practical, handsâon experience. Your learning will be supported by offâtheâjob training to build your knowledge and skills.
What Youâll Be Doing
- Assisting the Installer Team with removing and fitting windows and doors.
- Liaising with the local depot and warehouse to check lead times and collect stock.
- Learning and applying Health and Safety practices on and offâsite.
- Working onâsite at customersâ premises.
- Participating in offâtheâjob training and study sessions.
What You Need to Have
- Willingness and ability to study towards the Installer qualification, including completing offâtheâjob training.
- A desire to pursue a career in the Fenestration industry.
- The ability to work as part of a team; listen to instructions and execute safely and successfully.
- Good observation and informationâgathering skills, with the ability to identify and collect relevant evidence required as part of the qualification.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in various situations.
- Good time management and arriving on time.
- Excellent communication skills, with 46â55% of your time spent on external communication.
- A commitment to regular reviews with your line manager to develop a personal development plan and take advantage of training opportunities.
Salary Details
- ÂŁ15,600 per annum (ÂŁ8.00/hour): This rate applies to candidates who do not meet the legal and insurance requirements to drive company vehicles.
- ÂŁ23,809.50 per annum (ÂŁ12.21/hour): This rate applies to candidates who hold a valid UK driving licence and meet the companyâs requirements to drive company vehicles (subject to legal and insurance conditions).
