About the Role
Do you have a clear commitment to excellence and want to inspire others? If so, we are looking for you to join our Further Education teaching team! We are seeking a talented individual with the relevant experience and knowledge of the Horticulture Industry to provide instruction and lecturing to our adult learners and Further Education students. You will be required to teach subjects such as plant science, planting practice, plant care as well as other horticulture related subjects at the required RHS standard. You will be required to teach horticulture and related topics to Adult learners, Further Education students on full‑time, part‑time, apprenticeships and short courses, through lectures and practical sessions.
The successful candidate will contribute to the management, assessment and recruitment of students as well as having input into curriculum development. To succeed you will have a Level 2 GCSE English and Maths or equivalent, a vocational qualification at NVQ level 4 or equivalent and an appropriate endorsed teaching qualification (or be required to commence studies within 1 year of employment). You will also need to have a wealth of industry relevant experience within Horticulture and a strong understanding of RHS standards and practice. Up‑to‑date technical knowledge is vital to allow the sharing of best practices to both students and team members. Ideally, you will hold or be working towards the completion of your teaching qualification. It is essential that you are willing to work towards the assessor and internal verifier qualifications as these will be a requirement upon appointment.
