About The Role

As part of our small compliance team on the Writtle campus, you will be responsible for undertaking planned building engineering systems routine inspections and rectification tasks within identifiable timescales to ensure all legal and company standards are met. This will involve careful monitoring and inspection, recording the results clearly and accurately and highlighting significant issues for immediate rectification. Systems reviewed by this post include those associated with Legionella management, Fire Door Maintenance, Fire Extinguishers, Portable Appliance Testing, Emergency Light Testing, weekly fire alarm testing, meter reading and recording and other compliance tasks dependent on training.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake planned building engineering systems routine inspections and rectification tasks within identified timescales.
  • Monitor, inspect, record results clearly and accurately, and highlight significant issues for immediate rectification.
  • Review systems including Legionella management, Fire Door Maintenance, Fire Extinguishers, Portable Appliance Testing, Emergency Light Testing, weekly fire alarm testing, meter reading and recording, and other compliance tasks as trained.

Qualifications / Experience

  • GCSE education; vocational qualifications at NVQ level 2 or equivalent may be held.
  • Familiar with Health and Safety practices; knowledge of PAT testing, plumbing and water systems; experience in a large multi-site organisation.
  • Basic IT skills; ability to evaluate priorities and work with initiative and flexibility.
