About the Role

We are seeking a Lecturer in Nursing to be based in the School of Nursing on the Chelmsford campus. Your priority will be delivering high quality teaching and assessment to student nurses in the pre‑registration nursing course. The role includes preparing teaching resources, delivering teaching, and assessing student nurses. You will work within a year team of nursing academics to provide a variety of different modules to student nurses and support the development of pre‑registration nursing provision for both direct entry and apprenticeship learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality teaching and assessment to student nurses.
  • Prepare and deliver teaching resources for pre‑registration nursing modules.
  • Assess student nurses in accordance with institutional standards.
  • Collaborate with a team of nursing academics to provide a comprehensive range of modules.
  • Support the expansion and improvement of the pre‑registration nursing provision, including direct entry and apprenticeship pathways.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree plus PhD or professional doctorate, or nearing completion of a doctorate within the first 18 months of employment.
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for Adult and/or Mental Health and/or Learning Disability nursing.
  • A motivated individual with drive and ambition to build on our established success.
  • Experience in nurse education, clinical teaching of student nurses, and curriculum management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting.
