About The Role

This is a Senior Lecturer (SL)/Associate Professor (AP) substantive role with a 3-year Deputy Head of School (DHoS) position (with a possibility of one year’s extension). At the end of the Deputy Head of School role, the position reverts to the substantive Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor role. The substantive role will be confirmed when the offer is made to the successful candidate and will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic leadership and management for part of the Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing (MET) subject cluster within the Faculty of Business & Law.
  • As Deputy Head of School, support the Head of School to shape the future of the School and drive the implementation of Faculty and University strategy.
  • Lead curriculum development and innovation; ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Manage staff performance and wellbeing within the cluster; uphold governance and quality assurance standards.
  • Contribute to School-wide leadership projects and initiatives; foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Personally engage in teaching and research activities.

Qualifications

  • PhD or Professional Doctorate and significant experience in Higher Education governance and curriculum development.
  • Proven leadership skills with a collaborative and inclusive approach; strong commitment to student experience and outcomes.
  • Ability to analyse performance data and drive continuous improvement in key metrics (e.g., NSS).
  • Demonstrable alignment with ARU’s Gold-standard educational mission and our values of inclusivity, innovation, and impact.

Appointment details

This is a Senior Lecturer (SL)/Associate Professor (AP) substantive role with a Deputy Head of School (DHoS) position for three years (with a possibility of one year’s extension). The DHoS role is time-limited; at the end of the period, the appointment reverts to the substantive role.
