About The Role

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is seeking a Civic Engagement Officer to support the delivery of our civic mission by working in partnership with communities, public services and organisations to create Thriving Places through meaningful impact. The role focuses on inclusive, collaborative and co‑produced engagement that underpins research at ARU and supports the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, community organisations and stakeholders
  • Support delivery of civic engagement initiatives and regional partnerships
  • Contribute to student‑led engagement through the SHoKE programme
  • Support public and patient involvement in research to enhance impact
  • Plan and facilitate engagement activities, workshops and events
  • Capture and communicate impact through case studies and storytelling
  • Contribute to funding development and partnership opportunities

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with community or public sector partners and a strong commitment to inclusive, ethical and co‑produced approaches to engagement. The individual should be organised, collaborative and motivated to support activity that delivers real‑world impact.
