About The Role

We are looking for an organised and proactive Alumni Officer to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our alumni activity. You will deliver high-quality engagement activity that builds an inclusive, connected and active alumni community. You will coordinate communications, events and volunteering opportunities, support engagement with our Honoraries, and play a key role in maintaining accurate alumni data. You will also support outreach activity for the Graduate Outcomes Survey, helping ensure strong engagement with recent graduates.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communications, events and volunteering opportunities related to alumni activity.
  • Support engagement with Honoraries and maintain accurate alumni data.
  • Support outreach activity for the Graduate Outcomes Survey and ensure strong engagement with recent graduates.
  • Deliver high-quality service and respond to enquiries with professionalism and good judgement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the University to build positive relationships and improve how we work.

Qualifications

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) and a background in alumni relations, communications, stakeholder management, a customer-focused engagement role or events.
  • Experience coordinating activity to deadlines and using CRM systems (or similar) to maintain records and support reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to create engaging content for different audiences.
  • Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage a varied workload and balance communications, events and stakeholder engagement.
  • An interest in higher education and the power of an engaged alumni community is essential; experience in a university setting or supporting outreach activity would be an advantage.
