In this role, you’ll empower a talented student staff team, work alongside enthusiastic student leaders, and bring creative ideas to life through events and initiatives that truly matter. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Overseeing the operations of the Union student space and office, including the supervision and support of student staff.
  • Promoting community building among students.
  • Leading the Welcome Desk Team to ensure that high standards of customer service are met and maintained.
  • Supporting and empowering students to initiate, plan and deliver impactful community activities in line with our strategic objectives and ARU’s Access and Participation Plan objectives.
  • Working directly with students to plan, coordinate and deliver relevant events and initiatives within the area of responsibility.
  • Promoting initiatives fostering community cohesion, student wellbeing and campus vibrancy.
  • Developing strong relationships with the student community, university departments, clubs and societies and student networks.
  • Collaborating with other Union staff members to share successful community-building practices.

Experience That Will Support Your Application:

  • Experience of working with diverse groups of people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current issues affecting students, students’ unions, and the Higher Education sector.
  • Experience of working in a customer-service related environment and the ability to recognise and deliver excellent service standards.

  • Ability to conduct research and analyse data.
