- What You Will Be Doing
Working as part of the Semi Finished team, the Machine Operator plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and timely production of all Semi-Finished goods.
You’ll be responsible for Setting and operating our range of Beam, Panel, Band & Upcut Saws, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and a strong focus on safety and quality throughout the process.
In this role, you’ll help keep the team running smoothly and support our wider goals across the department.
You day to day responsibilities include
- Setting and operating our range of Beam, Panel, Band & Upcut Saws, as well as our range of Thicknessers and Centreless Grinders.
- Undertaking machining duties to produce our standard range of Prep Pro chopping boards.
- Positively contribute towards team performance in working towards achieving personal and company objectives including KPI’s.
- Apply company processes to support a right first time standard.
- Completing all reporting and quality check procedures.
- Carry out all necessary daily safety checks associated with the department’s equipment.
- Educate and mentor new team members on achieving maximum efficiencies.
- What Are We Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, hands on, and takes pride in producing high quality work.
You’ll need to be comfortable working as part of a team, have a proactive attitude, and be willing to support the wider semi finished area when needed.
The ideal person will have strong practical skills, good attention to detail, and a positive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
- To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need
- A good understanding of English, Maths and IT skills.
- Must be able to self manage and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines set.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with all work colleagues.
- Experience of using any woodworking machinery, including Beam Saws, Panel Saws or Thicknessers is desirable but not essential
- Can demonstrate a level of practical skills in a previous role.
- FLT licence of any kind would be beneficial.
