Oadby Plastics is looking for a CNC 3 Axis Setter/Operator to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role involves producing high-quality components to exact specifications while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Editing, setting and operating 3 axis CNC machines to produce components that meet technical drawings, tolerances and quality standards.
  • Selecting the right materials, tools and machining strategies, and carrying out first-off and final checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Interpreting CAD drawings and engineering information to deliver precise and consistent results.
  • Performing daily and weekly machine checks, maintaining equipment, and reporting any issues to the CNC Lead Operator or Production Supervisor.

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, hands-on, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. You’ll need to be comfortable working as part of a team, have a proactive attitude, and be willing to support the wider production area when needed. The ideal candidate will have strong practical skills, good attention to detail, and a positive approach to learning and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience programming (editing) 3 axis CNC machines using CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience setting up and operating 3 axis CNC machinery.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining specifications.
  • High attention to detail with a strong understanding of precision measurement and machining processes.
