Job Overview
We are seeking a temporary commercial lawyer to support our European and UK businesses across a broad range of legal, regulatory and commercial matters.
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and working closely with the legal team, you will provide practical, business‑focused advice that enables the business to achieve its objectives while managing legal and regulatory risk.
This is a hybrid workplace role.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise internal stakeholders across the UK and Europe on a broad range of commercial, legal and regulatory matters.
- Manage legal escalations and disputes arising from platform operations, assessing risk and recommending pragmatic solutions.
- Review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including technology, marketing, procurement and supplier contracts.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across the UK and EU, assess impact on the business and support implementation of required changes.
- Identify legal and regulatory risks arising from day‑to‑day operations and work with stakeholders to implement appropriate mitigation measures and process improvements.
- Assist with legal project management and coordination across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare guidance, templates and training materials to improve legal awareness and support compliance across the business.
- Job Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with at least 2 years of experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house setting.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous but not essential.
- Generalist experience advising on diverse topics with a strong understanding of commercial and privacy laws.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Pragmatic and commercial approach to legal matters.
- Ability to work effectively in an international environment with multicultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated initiative, enjoyment of process improvement, and a practical mindset for solving legal and operational issues.
- Interest in legal technology and AI, with willingness to adopt tools that improve efficiency and scalability.
- Ideally, experience with fast‑growing companies, either as an external advisor or in‑house counsel.
The salary band for this position ranges from £75,000 – £95,000 (annualised), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Hybrid work environment with home‑office set‑up allowance.
