About Outpost

What if going global was as simple as going local? Outpost is building the AI global trade engine. The accumulated knowledge of every rule you'd need to sell internationally, turned into infrastructure. Tell us what you're selling. We'll tell you how to sell it everywhere. We operate as Merchant of Record or Tax of Record across 58+ tax jurisdictions. Full liability transfer, or just the tax layer. We do the analysis, we handle the setup, we absorb the liability. Sell anything, anywhere. Without compromise.

The Role

This is a Social Media role for someone who wants to define the voice and visual identity of a category-defining company. You'll report directly to the CEO and own how Outpost shows up to the world. Initially, that means being a one-person creative engine: capturing what happens in the office, distilling complex fintech concepts into sharp content, and building an audience of founders and finance leaders. Over time, you’ll build the broader brand and community function. We are building "boring" infrastructure - tax, payments, compliance, but our mission is anything but. Your job is to make global trade feel as exciting as it actually is. You’ll turn technical complexity into high-signal content that people actually want to consume. You are a creator who understands business. You've seen what great brand-building looks like at fast-scaling companies and you want to build that from scratch. You care about the craft of a post as much as the metrics behind it.

What You'll Get

Yes, the work is intense. But in return, you’ll be the architect of Outpost’s public persona. You’ll work directly with the CEO, sit at the center of our culture, and define how a global infrastructure company communicates in 2026. If you want to build a brand that people actually talk about, this is the seat.

What You'll Do

  • Content Creation (Day One)
    • Own the full content lifecycle: ideation, scripting, filming, editing, and distribution.
    • Translate 'dry' topics like VAT, MoR, and liability into engaging hooks and visual stories.
    • Manage our presence across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and emerging platforms.
    • Capture the 'behind the scenes' of a fast-growing startup to build talent brand and trust.
  • Strategy & Growth (Over Time)
    • Develop the long-term social strategy that moves the needle on inbound interest.
    • Identify and engage with key voices in the fintech, e-commerce, and VC ecosystems.
    • Experiment with new formats - video, threads, visual essays, to see what resonates.
    • Partner with the CEO and founding team to build their personal brands as industry authorities.
  • Community & Brand
    • Own the conversation. Respond to trends, engage with followers, and build a community of advocates.
    • Ensure every piece of content reflects our "builder, not talker" culture.
    • Collaborate with Product Marketing to align social output with product launches and GTM goals.

Example Projects

  • Launch a video series that explains a complex tax concept in under 60 seconds.
  • Build the CEO’s LinkedIn presence into a top-of-funnel lead generator for the sales team.
  • Create a 'Day in the Life' content pillar that helps us hire the next 20 engineers.
  • Live-capture a major product launch or event and turn it into a multi-channel campaign.
  • Establish the visual 'vibe' of Outpost - from memes that hit home to high-fidelity explainers.

What We're Looking For

  • Ideal background
    • Social media or content role at a high-growth startup (fintech or e-commerce is a plus).
    • A portfolio that shows you can write and create (video editing, basic design, sharp copy).
    • Experience building an audience from 0 to 1, either for a brand or yourself.
  • Signals we care about
    • You understand the nuances of B2B social, you know how to be professional without being boring.
    • You are a 'unit of one.' You can pick up a camera, write a script, and hit 'post' without an agency.
    • You have high taste. You know what looks good and what feels 'cringe.'
    • You’re comfortable with ambiguity. We don’t have a social playbook yet; you’ll write it.
    • Bias for action. You’d rather post and learn than over-analyze for a week.

What this role is not

  • Not a community manager who just schedules pre-written posts.
  • Not someone who needs a creative agency or a big budget to produce content.
  • Not a traditional PR role focused on 'corporate' comms.
  • Not someone who waits for a content calendar to be handed to them.

Why This Role Is Different

Most social roles are about maintaining a 'brand voice' that was decided years ago. This role is about creating the voice for the engine of global trade. You’ll be in the room where decisions happen, turning those moments into the narrative that defines us. Every post you create will shape how the world sees the future of commerce.

Outpost Team

Our team were leaders at Revolut, Airwallex, Adyen and Wayflyer, and we're backed by top-tier investors who have built or backed some of the world's leading fintechs.

What We Offer

  • Equity and salary in a well-funded startup.
  • Ability to own your work and move fast.
  • Direct access to the CEO and founding team.
  • A global mission with real impact.
  • Low politics, high output.
  • A culture of builders, not talkers.

Working Style

We work together in person in London. We believe the hardest problems are solved and the best content is captured in the room.

If you want to build the team behind global commerce infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
