We are seeking a hands-on yet strategic Technical Project Management Lead to guide our project managers and ensure the smooth delivery of complex cross functional projects. You will join a capable and motivated delivery team with strong foundations already in place. We are looking for someone to build on that success by bringing structure where it adds value and strengthening governance where needed, including ISO27001 aligned practices. Your goal is to elevate delivery standards as we continue to grow.
In this role, you will oversee digital delivery in agile sprints and coordinate large scale projects across multiple teams. You will ensure leadership has the right insight to make informed decisions. This position requires the ability to see the big picture while maintaining the discipline to keep delivery on track. You will balance business priorities, technical realities, and resource constraints to make sure our project management approach is consistent, transparent, and outcome focused.
Key Responsibilities

- Mentor and manage staff through performance reviews, career development, and ongoing coaching to build a high performing team.
- Drive accountability and engagement to foster a culture of ownership and professionalism across the delivery department.
- Resolve delivery obstacles by acting as the primary escalation point for project related issues and removing blockers to progress.
- Champion best practices in planning and execution to elevate delivery quality while maintaining a pragmatic and agile mindset.
- Drive the product roadmap by aligning development priorities with business goals to ensure a clear path from concept to release.
- Master our delivery tools by ensuring Jira and Confluence are used effectively to maintain high visibility, consistent reporting, and team accountability.
- Lead agile delivery by overseeing sprints and facilitating ceremonies that keep teams aligned and projects moving forward, ensuring an efficient flow from concept through to release.
- Coordinate large scale initiatives across multiple teams to manage dependencies, timelines, and resources at a portfolio level.
- Monitor delivery health by tracking key performance indicators such as velocity, burndown, and lead time to drive continuous improvement and ensure predictable outcomes.
- Act as the main point of contact for senior leadership on project status, risks, and key strategic decisions.
- Produce board ready reporting and proactive updates to support informed decision making at every level of the organisation.
- Build strong relationships across departments to ensure delivery is collaborative, transparent, and aligned.
- Influence effectively at senior levels, including handling difficult conversations and resolving conflict with professionalism.
- Strengthen governance frameworks that are appropriate for a growing SaaS organisation and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure delivery practices support information security and compliance standards, including ISO27001-aligned processes.
- Manage budget and resource oversight to ensure efficient delivery across the technical portfolio.
- Track benefit realisation to ensure projects deliver measurable commercial value and outcomes rather than just technical outputs.
- Proactively explore emerging tools and technologies, including AI, that can enhance delivery efficiency, collaboration, or decision-making.
- Evaluate and recommend software solutions, ensuring they are fit for purpose, secure, and scalable.
- Pilot and embed innovative practices that improve the way teams plan, execute, and measure project outcomes.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field OR equivalent professional experience in delivering complex technical projects.
- Proven experience line managing and developing project delivery teams, including recruitment, mentoring, and performance management.
- 5 + years of experience in technical project management, software development, IT project delivery, or technical leadership.
- Demonstrable ability to bridge technical detail and business priorities, working with developers, architects, and leadership teams.
- Strong conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills, able to influence at all organisational levels.
- Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and project reporting/dashboards, with a track record of driving consistent tool adoption across teams.
- Experience with Agile delivery methods, including facilitating sprint ceremonies and portfolio planning.
- Experience delivering projects within regulated environments such as ISO27001 or similar information security frameworks.
- Experience managing budgets and resource planning across a large scale portfolio.
- Adaptability and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple large scale projects in a fast paced environment.
Desirable
- Recognised project management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgileP, Practitioner, CSM, SAFe Agilist).
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks for service management, particularly in relation to change management and hosting operations.
- Experience with procurement and vendor management within a technical delivery context.
- Experience in the EdTech or SaaS sectors, providing a deeper understanding of our specific market and user needs.
- Exposure to AI enabled project management tools or other emerging technologies that can enhance delivery efficiency.
