Angard Staffing is recruiting motivated individuals to join our team as Temporary Gate House Officers with Royal Mail.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting one of the UK's largest parcel operations, ensuring the safe and efficient management of site access during Royal Mail's busy Peak Season.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Gate House Officer, you will be responsible for controlling access to site, monitoring visitors and vehicles, and ensuring all security and operational procedures are followed at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and regulate the entry and exit of vehicles, employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Verify visitor credentials and issue access badges and permits.
- Maintain accurate records of site activity and visitor logs.
- Conduct routine checks and report any security concerns or incidents.
- Liaise with site management, operational teams, and call centres regarding site issues.
- Ensure all access control procedures are followed consistently.
- Support the safe and secure operation of the site at all times.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and emergency situations.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Has previous experience within a gatehouse, security, reception, or site-based role.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is confident interacting with employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers.
- Has strong attention to detail and observation skills.
- Can remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
- Demonstrates excellent record-keeping and organisational skills.
- Is reliable, punctual, and professional at all times.
- Can work independently whilst also supporting wider site operations.

Pay & Shifts
The table below outlines the typical shift patterns for this role.
- Morning Shift 06:00–14:00 £16.29
- Afternoon Shift 14:00–22:00 £16.29
- Night Shift 22:00–06:00 £17.59
- Weekend Sunday Day £16.29
- Weekend Sunday Night £16.86
Rates may vary during Peak periods and Angard Staffing will communicate any changes in advance.
Important Information
This role is for the Christmas Peak Period. Assignments are temporary and will automatically end once the site's Peak Season operation has concluded.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be comfortable working long shifts, including nights and weekends. Appropriate training and site procedures will be provided.
