About The Role
We are looking for Recreation Assistants to support, enhance and deliver the day to day operations of our leisure facilities. You will be responsible for the preparation, cleaning and general safety of all areas in our sports and recreation facilities. This includes wet side facilities where you will have key responsibilities for the safety of customers in the swimming pools and surrounding areas. In dry side facilities which will include setting up and taking down and storage of equipment. Recreation Assistants are the first point of contact with customers and will need strong communication and social skills. Working on an annualised hours contract, you’ll have flexibility throughout the year, with your working pattern reflecting peak periods such as evenings, weekends, school holidays, and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a friendly and professional welcome to all users of the Sports Centre
- Support customers with enquiries, bookings, and membership information
- Set up and take down sports equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure all activity areas are prepared and maintained to a high standard
- Supervise facilities to ensure safe usage and adherence to centre policies
- Assist with cleaning duties and routine safety checks
- Report maintenance issues promptly and help ensure a safe environment
- Support the delivery of activities, classes, and events as required
