Aneurin Bevan University Health Board invites applicants to join the Facilities team as a Facilities Operative within the Domestic Services at North Resource Centre. The role involves supporting the patient and customer experience through a range of facilities duties.

Working Hours: 16 hours per week, scheduled over a two‑week rota as follows:

  • Week 1 – Monday 14:00‑19:00, Tuesday 07:30‑13:30, Friday 14:00‑19:00
  • Week 2 – Monday 14:00‑19:00, Tuesday 07:30‑13:30, Friday 07:30‑12:30

Responsibilities: The post holder will undertake a range of specific work functions across the Facilities service, as set out in the relevant job schedules. Duties will be assigned according to priority needs, and the post holder must maintain a flexible approach, cover rosters as required, and assist with a variety of domestic services tasks. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Key duties include:

  • Facility maintenance and operational support
  • Equipment and procedure handling within domestic services
  • Collaboration with team members and supervisors
  • Compliance with health and safety protocols

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Completion of corporate and local facilities induction and internal training programme (12 weeks, including 1 week departmental training and 2 weeks on‑the‑job training)
  • Working knowledge of procedures and equipment relevant to the post
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations, Health & Safety policies, and workplace procedures
  • Knowledge of Infection Control policy, guidelines, and procedures
  • Knowledge of ISO 9002 regarding recording data
  • Basic Food Hygiene training
  • Compliance with mandatory induction standards and the NHS Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers (NHS Circular CEL 23, 2010)

Desirable Experience: Previous experience in a similar facilities role
