ABUHB Pharmacy is seeking a motivated individual to join as a Senior Pharmacist in Production and Aseptic Services. This key position involves working with the Principal Pharmacist to manage and oversee production and aseptic services, ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality, and compliant products for our patients. You will be part of a dedicated team, advancing services, driving innovation, and maintaining regulatory standards. We are looking for an inspiring person with experience in pharmaceutical production and aseptic services. You’ll combine technical expertise with exceptional leadership and communication skills, bringing a passion for innovation and dedication to excellence. Main duties of the job
We welcome applicants with limited aseptic experience. This post may be offered under Annex 21 of the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service where a candidate does not yet meet full role requirements but can be appointed as a trainee and offered a structured training programme to allow development to the required standard. During training, salary will be paid as a percentage of the fully qualified rate in accordance with Annex 21 provisions. Upon successful completion of training and required competencies, the postholder will move to the appropriate spine point of the full pay band for the role. NHS Wales is creating the Transforming Access to Medicines Service (TrAMs) hosted by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). The current service provided by ABUHB and this post may transfer to NWSSP as part of this programme.
Support the Principal Pharmacist in managing the aseptic service at RGH, ensuring safe and effective manufacture of medicines across ABUHB sites. Contribute to service planning, development, and delivery in line with operational strategy, through leadership of professional and technical staff. Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, patients, carers, and partner organisations. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and all relevant standards and guidance.
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Essential criteria: Master degree in Pharmacy, Member of the GPhC, Experience in hospital pharmacy within an aseptic unit
- Desirable criteria: Leadership qualification, Project management skills
Experience
- Essential criteria: Previous role in Pharmacy Aseptics, Supervising teams and service delivery
- Desirable criteria: Regulatory standards including GPhC, Home Office, MHRA
