Position Deputy Ward Manager (Band 6) – Oak Ward, County Hospital

Job Overview

  • Lead and manage ward activities on a shift‑by‑shift basis, acting in the absence of the Ward Manager.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care within a recovery‑focused service.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, and collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver high‑quality patient care while ensuring compliance with the National Service Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management of ward activities during each shift.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care for patients.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering professional development.
  • Collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Service Framework and relevant policies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree qualification.
  • Previous nursing service experience.
  • NMC registration.
