Manufacturing insoles (foot orthoses) and other orthoses (bracing) including footwear adaptations to the prescription provided by Podiatrists and Orthotists. Support clinical team within the clinical environment with clinical asks including fitting of orthotic products to patients. Based at County Hospital in Griffithstown, you will be part of the MSK Podiatry and Orthotics teams providing high quality service to patients accessing the service. You will need excellent hand eye coordination for high skilled manufacture and excellent communication skills throughout. This role is currently under review within the Health Board and will result in the issuance of a revised band 3 job description. If appointed, your manager will ensure you are kept informed and support you through any changes, including discussing relevant training requirements.
Main duties of the job:
- Manufacturing work involving grinding machinery and use of hand tools
- In-putting information onto computer database
- Coordinating delivery and fitting of orthotic products to patients
- Communication with patients & team members to support the clinical team within the clinical environment
- Quality control
- Stock taking
- Ensuring a safe working environment
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
