Job Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced dietitian to expand their knowledge and skills in paediatrics. This post will be based at the Grange University Hospital but will include outpatient clinics at locations across the health board. The post holder will have already attained a sound knowledge and understanding of either general paediatric dietetics or other specialties within dietetics. Paediatric experience is desirable but not essential as training and supervision will be provided. CPD opportunities will be provided including shadowing other specialties and relevant BDA modules.
The Aneurin Bevan paediatric team is a dynamic, highly specialised team of dietitians supported by dedicated paediatric support workers and admin support. Whilst some previous experience and post registration training in this speciality is ideal, we will consider those who haven’t, to undertake a one-year training competency framework under Annex 21, 75% Band 6. During this year you will obtain the relevant training and experience to meet the full competency framework of this Band 6 role and will be able to undertake all duties within this specialist dietitian job description.
Main duties of the job: The post holder will work within the acute team covering the children’s wards and neonatal unit at the Grange University Hospital. They will be responsible for a general and gastro paediatric dietetic outpatient clinics and will have the opportunity to deliver group education to families and other health professionals. Qualifications And Knowledge:
- Essential criteria: Dietetics degree or post graduate diploma or masters in dietetics, HCPC registration as a dietitian.
- Desirable criteria: Completion of masters level paediatric dietetic training.
Experience:
- Essential criteria: Evidence of a strong interest in paediatric dietetics, passionate and enthusiastic about paediatric dietetics.
