Job Overview
Working across hospital sites and within the community across ABUHB, we are seeking dynamic, forward-thinking clinician to join our rotational cardio-respiratory team. You will embrace and model Health Board values, have excellent communication skills and a strong team working ethos, as well as the ability to demonstrate leadership qualities. We are looking for physiotherapists with a solid foundation in core clinical skills and who are keen to develop and enhance their knowledge, reasoning and competence within the speciality of cardiorespiratory. You will support innovation and change and be committed to developing services.
You will be part of the specialist Cardio-Respiratory Pod and rotate through the Grange University Hospital (including critical care, surgery, cardiology, general medical, chronic respiratory), respiratory outpatients, domiciliary neuro-muscular respiratory and into the community cardiorespiratory rehabilitation services (symptom management service, cardiac rehab and pulmonary rehab). You will gain support, skills and knowledge from the senior clinical team and have learning opportunities within all settings.
Main duties of the job: The Physiotherapy Service encourages staff development through local and Health Board wide in-service training programmes across different specialities, as well as speciality forums, clinical audit, research and clinical supervision and mentoring.
We have a structured appraisal system with annual reviews underpinned by the Knowledge and Skills Framework. It is expected that you will be actively involved in assisting in the education and mentoring of rotational staff and physiotherapy students. The post holder will contribute to the physiotherapy emergency on-call rota.
Experience
Essential criteria- Broad range of clinical experience through a comprehensive band 5 rotation
- Have undertaken a rotation into the speciality of cardiorespiratory
- Experience of participating in and delivering in-service training programmes
- Evidence of having participated in on-call and weekend duties
- Evidence of having worked unsupervised
- Previous band 6 position

Essential criteria- The physical ability to perform and cope with all aspects of manual handling as demanded by the job role
- The ability to adapt to changes in work routine
- Available for on-call
- The ability to move between sites within the Health Board or patients’ residences as demanded by the job role

- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development sufficient to meet HPC requirements

Education / Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria- Diploma/degree in physiotherapy
- Registered with Health Professions Council
- MCSP
