Job Overview An exciting opportunity within the Cellular Pathology Department for a Healthcare Support Worker, Band 3, Pre‑analytical Supervisor. Permanent 37.5 hour post, working Monday to Friday 08.30–17.00 with a 1‑hour unpaid lunch.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Reception Team Leader with the day‑to‑day operation and supervision of the pre‑analytical area, ensuring efficient service provision by utilising staff and resources appropriately.
- Receive, unpack, check and register samples and undertake clerical duties as necessary.
- Provide technical and preparatory support to the pre‑analytical area of the department.
- Coordinate with Health Board departments to ensure effective and timely throughput to the next laboratory section.
Essential Qualifications
- Education to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience of using different software packages.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Problem‑solving abilities.
Desirable Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Previous pathology laboratory experience.
- Welsh Language Skills level 1 in understanding, speaking, reading, writing.
- Planning and organising skills in a workplace setting.
