We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our Aseptic Services team. You will play a vital role in the pre-production, assembly and post-production stages of aseptically prepared medicines, helping us deliver a safe, timely and high-quality service for patients across ABUHB.
Working in cleanroom environments, you will support the manufacture of a range of aseptic products including cytotoxic medicines, TPN, and IV additives, all in accordance with GMP, Health & Safety and COSHH requirements. You will support stock management, use pharmacy computer systems, and help maintain the safe and effective operation of the production unit. You will be part of a skilled, supportive team delivering essential, life-impacting medicines. Full training is provided, with opportunities to develop skills in aseptic production, quality systems and technical services.
Main duties of the job:
- Assist in aseptic preparation of a range of medicinal products under supervision.
- Assemble equipment, sanitise materials and maintain cleanroom standards, including wearing specialist clothing.
- Carry out inspection, labelling, documentation and environmental monitoring tasks.
- Support process validation, equipment verification and SOP implementation.
- Maintain effective stock control, including rotation, waste reduction and secure handling of high-risk materials.
- Use pharmacy IT systems for data entry, generating worksheets, expiry checks and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, ward staff and external teams, escalating issues appropriately.
- Support preparation of emergency or non-commercially available products when required.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
