Job Overview
Join the Clinical Support Services Division at Aneurin Bevan Health Board! A unique opportunity within Clinical Support Services Division. The General Manager will provide leadership, strategic and professional management combined with operational responsibility for the CSS Division, working with the Divisional Director in the development and delivery of the Division’s services. They will take a lead role in supporting and assuring the performance: clinical, quality, workforce and financial agenda ensuring effective, high quality patient care, which meets key national/local requirements, within available resources. They will have the proven ability to work in an integrated way to take services forward, to realise the ambition within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB). The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- Delivery and performance of CSS, ensuring that services are developed in line with service demand and agreed national and local priorities.
- Review performance targets regularly and activate remedial plans to address noncompliance, escalating if targets are not met or are compromised.
- Ensuring robust arrangements are in place to deal with governance issues across CSS, especially as services change and develop.
- Exercise judgment involving highly complex facts and figures and situations relating to CSS, which require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
- Manage the effective devolution of budgets within Departments.
- Line manage staff within CSS.
