Are you an experienced, motivated team leader with a passion for delivering high-quality facilities services in a healthcare environment? We are looking for a Facilities Supervisor to join our dedicated team supporting patient care across our sites. In this vital role, you’ll help ensure our environments are safe, clean, welcoming and well‑maintained, supporting clinical colleagues and contributing directly to excellent patient experience. The hours are 30 per week to be worked 13:30 - 20:00 over 5 shifts per week.
Main duties of the job
- Lead and motivate facilities teams to deliver high-quality services.
- Plan and adjust work schedules to meet service demands.
- Carry out regular ward/department visits and liaise with clinical teams.
- Monitor service quality, complete audits and take corrective action where needed.
- Support staff through training, performance reviews and daily supervision.
- Ensure compliance with Health Board policies, infection control standards, COSHH, Health & Safety and Food Hygiene legislation.
- Respond to day‑to‑day issues, reporting/escalating defects and service failures.
- Assist with stock control, kitchen temperature monitoring, waste control, linen distribution and bed space cleaning coordination.
This is a hands‑on role requiring visibility across all areas, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards.

Qualifications and Knowledge
- Food Hygiene & Safety Level 2
- Basic Health & Safety Certificate
- Knowledge of full range of work procedures, practices, and equipment for cleaning, catering and portering services
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, HACCP policy and procedures
- NVQ level 2 in Cleaning or Catering Services
- Certificate in Health & Safety
- ECDL IT Qualification
- Food Hygiene & Safety Level 3
- Awareness of NHS cleaning techniques as per National Cleaning Standards for NHS Wales
- Awareness of All Wales Nutrition and Catering Standards for Food and Fluid provision for Hospital Inpatients
Experience
- Sufficient experience in the cleaning and catering industry
- Willingness to train for job development
- Ability to motivate and develop staff
- Ability to meet unplanned work deadlines or demands
- Experience of training staff in routine tasks
- Assessing and undertaking risk assessment
- Previous experience of supervising staff
- Experience of undertaking audits
- Knowledge of medical gases
- Knowledge of waste disposal
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to work effectively with both management and other supervisors with a positive attitude and willingness to take responsibility
- Knowledge of working in multi‑disciplinary environments
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines

- Ability to travel between sites as requested
- Previous experience within a healthcare environment
- Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
