Job overview
We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Coding Support Officer to join the Clinical Coding Department at the Royal Gwent Hospital. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking part-time employment that can be worked around other commitments, while also providing valuable exposure to and experience within the field of Clinical Coding.
This post is a fixed term/secondment for 12 months until 30th Sept 2027 to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

To assist in the location of casenotes required by The Clinical Coding Department.
To work closely with Clinical Coding Co-ordinator and all Clinical Coding staff.
To develop good working relationships with secretarial and other staff who handle health records.
To assist in the tracking of casenotes into and out of The Coding Department.
To return casenotes to other departments where applicable.
To provide annual leave/sickness cover for the Clinical Coding Support Officer.
Basic data entry.
Maintain Confidentiality, adhering to the guidelines laid down by The Information Governance Department.
