An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Audiologist to join a dynamic team, delivering high-quality audiology services across adult and paediatric pathways. The post holder will undertake a range of diagnostic assessments, including pure tone audiometry and middle ear function tests, and contribute to patient-centred management plans. The role involves assessing hearing and rehabilitation needs, fitting and maintaining digital hearing aids in line with national guidelines, and providing ongoing support to patients through clinics, including community and domiciliary visits where required. The post holder will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including ENT and paediatric services, ensuring coordinated and holistic care.
In addition, the successful candidate will support paediatric clinics, assist with more advanced assessments alongside senior staff, contribute to service administration, and play a role in training and supporting students. Accurate record keeping, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering high standards of care are essential.
Main duties of the job:- Provide a range of audiometric investigations to a predominately adult population
- Provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to a predominantly adult population
- Provide a range of audiometric investigations and hearing aid service to children aged 6 years+ with temporary hearing loss
- Assist in general administration duties within the Audiology department
- Follow departmental policies and procedures; work is managed rather than supervised
- PTP in Audiology (or equivalent) plus RCCP Professional register
- NHS Practitioner Training Programme (PTP) or equivalence BAAT parts I & II
- RCCP registration
- Experience in adult diagnostic hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings using real ear measurements
- Experience in older children’s hearing assessments and digital hearing aid fittings for glue ear
- Use of Auditbase database
- Use of GN Otometrics, Aurical Audiology systems
- Understanding of Health and Safety issues in NHS
- Competent in the use of IT skills
- Theoretical knowledge of more complex diagnostic Audiological assessments
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Caring nature
- Ability to travel between sites within the Health Board
- Welsh Language Skills (levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh)
