Job Overview: Are you a passionate, experienced nurse with a drive to develop others and shape the future workforce? We’re looking for a dynamic Practice Educator to join our team and play a vital role in strengthening clinical skills, improving patient outcomes, and supporting care closer to home. As a Practice Educator, you will design, deliver and evaluate high‑quality training programmes for the primary, community and independent contractor workforce. Working alongside senior nursing leads, you’ll ensure education aligns with strategic priorities, supports service transformation, and equips staff to deliver safe, evidence‑based, person‑centred care. You will empower both registered and non‑registered staff by building competence, supporting professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job:

  • Design and deliver training programmes to develop clinical skills and professional knowledge across the workforce.
  • Assess and support staff competence, ensuring safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based care.
  • Identify learning needs and contribute to training needs analysis and workforce development planning.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to nurses and healthcare support workers.
  • Support service improvement and innovation in education and clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with senior nurses and stakeholders across primary care, community services, and care homes.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and contribute to quality, audit, and policy development.
  • Promote patient safety and reduce avoidable admissions by strengthening community‑based care.

Qualification and knowledge:

Essential criteria:

  • 1st level Nurse, NMC registered RGN, with current registration.
  • Teaching qualification or equivalent demonstrable level of knowledge and experience.
  • Education to degree level plus specialist clinical knowledge to postgraduate diploma level.

Desirable criteria:

  • PGCE Practice Assessor / Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of Primary Care Nursing.

Experience:

Essential criteria:

  • Substantial post registration experience in primary or community care.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify trends, attained through degree level education or relevant experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Primary and Community care nursing.
  • Proven record of delivering nurse and patient education.

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience in delivering simulation‑based education.
  • Experience of change management.
