Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Enhanced Nurse Practitioner (ENP) to join the evolving District Nursing and Community Services Division. This Band 6 autonomous role supports the Clinical Futures program, aiming to develop integrated practitioners. It involves patient assessments, clinical decision‑making, leadership within the multidisciplinary team, education and research to promote evidence‑based practice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments, diagnose and implement evidence‑based care.
  • Make clinical decisions and provide leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop and contribute to clinical services and nursing practice from a strategic and operational perspective.
  • Ensure timely provision of high‑standard nursing assessment, advice, planning, implementation, training support and evaluation of care, considering the social context.
  • Plan and deliver collaborative care packages that cross health and social care boundaries to ensure patients are nursed in the right place, at the right time, by the right person.
  • Engage in quality and patient safety initiatives, ensuring that the Patient Safety and Quality agenda is met within the agreed area of responsibility.
  • Encourage and support professional development, including the MSc Pathway for Advanced Nurse Practice and bespoke training programmes.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant MSc.
  • Registered Nurse, currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Portfolio approved.
  • Relevant experience gained at Band 6 level.
  • Independent prescriber credentials.
  • Experience as a nurse practitioner.

Desirable Criteria

  • Autonomous practitioner.
  • Audits experience.
  • Ability to speak Welsh (desirable but not mandatory).
