There is a temporary top-up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top-up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour (£24,638 per annum). This temporary top-up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.

Job Overview

To provide a full confidential secretarial service to the Neurology Consultants and their team. Carrying out duties as defined by the Business Support Manager to meet the needs of the service. Managing and prioritising your workload, working independently to defined policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

Providing secretarial support to the Consultant and extended team, along with general support throughout the department as needed.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience

Essential criteria

• Experience of working in a Secretarial post

Desirable criteria

• NHS experience and experience as a Medical Secretary
• Experience working in a hospital environment

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Keyboard skills to RSA III or equivalent
• Audio Typing
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of CWS, Myrddyn, Med Secs

Education

• English Language GCSE `O` level or equivalent, with a good standard of education
