Job Overview
This is a fixed-term/secondment post for 6 months to meet service needs.
The role involves managing medical staffing for Medicine at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospital, being the first point of contact for medical staff within the division, ensuring safe and adequate cover, and supporting doctors with advice, support, and scheduling.
Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from English and Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
Main duties include:
- Act as the initial contact for doctors in the Medicine Division on the YYF site, ensuring issues are resolved and cover is maintained.
- Troubleshoot daily issues related to clinical cover for leave, sickness, and vacancies, adopting cost-effective and compliant approaches.
- Communicate with Consultants and Clinical Directors to resolve rota gaps and inform relevant staff.
- Coordinate recruitment of junior and middle-grade doctors.
- Organize and facilitate Junior Doctors Induction Programmes and ensure compliance with policies.
- Develop and communicate compliant Junior Doctor Rota’s.
- Record sickness and leave, and alert relevant consultants of absences impacting service.
