Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cellular Pathology Department for a Laboratory Healthcare Support Worker, Band 2. This is a permanent 37.5 hours per week post, working Monday to Friday.

We are a busy Histology and Diagnostic Cytology department processing 38,000 specimens annually. The role primarily involves facilitating the throughput of specimens through the laboratory to reporting consultants.

Main duties of the job

  • Working within specimen reception, including unpacking, checking, and registering specimens.
  • Filing tissue blocks and microscope slides.
  • Receiving and unpacking consumables.
  • Telephony and general housekeeping duties.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
