Job Overview

Clinical Futures is aligned to the opening of our brand new Grange University Hospital in November 2021 and the parallel development of Centers of Excellence in the surrounding enhanced local general hospitals. The developments of these sites mean that you would be joining ABUHB at a truly once in a generation era.

Main duties of the job
The post involves working at the Royal Gwent Hospital site and providing active medical input to patients admitted through the Acute Medical Unit to one of the in-patient wards. The post holder will be trained in the assessment and management of medical, psychological and social health of patients presenting to a General Internal Medical Intake.
The appointee will be responsible to the Assistant Medical Director and the post holders overall named Clinical Supervisor (CS) and will be expected to work closely with other medical teams based at the Royal Gwent Hospital.
The expectation of the role is to provide junior grade support as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a 30 bedded GIM or sub-speciality ward including Care of the Elderly and Diabetes and Endocrinology. The post holder will participate in consultant led ward rounds as part of the MDT. You will participate in a rotational programme to experience all clinical aspects of medicine within the Royal Gwent Hospital and be supported to meet individual training needs.
