The Radiology department in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Hengoed is seeking to recruit a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer to join the team in the General X‑ray department. The role involves performing a full range of diagnostic radiographs for both in‑patients and out‑patients, delivering high‑quality images, and providing high‑quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic examinations.
- Help provide a high quality and efficient radiographic service to all patients.
- Handle patients and equipment with appropriate manual handling training.
- Use the RIS and PACS systems and clinical workstations as required.
- Follow departmental work procedures and practices.
- Observe a personal duty of care when operating equipment.
- Undertake surveys or audits pertaining to the job.
- Participate in out‑of‑hours services, including CT head service.
- Ensure equipment is well cared for and report any breakdowns or faults.
- Maintain adequate knowledge of current radiographic techniques and equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc Radiography.
- NSH Experience.
- Experience of a wide range of techniques.

- Enthusiasm for the post.
Desirable
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
