The Radiology department in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Hengoed is seeking to recruit a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer to join the team in the General X‑ray department. The role involves performing a full range of diagnostic radiographs for both in‑patients and out‑patients, delivering high‑quality images, and providing high‑quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic examinations.
  • Help provide a high quality and efficient radiographic service to all patients.
  • Handle patients and equipment with appropriate manual handling training.
  • Use the RIS and PACS systems and clinical workstations as required.
  • Follow departmental work procedures and practices.
  • Observe a personal duty of care when operating equipment.
  • Undertake surveys or audits pertaining to the job.
  • Participate in out‑of‑hours services, including CT head service.
  • Ensure equipment is well cared for and report any breakdowns or faults.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of current radiographic techniques and equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc Radiography.
  • NSH Experience.
  • Experience of a wide range of techniques.

  • Enthusiasm for the post.

Desirable

  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
