Job Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager has become available on our stroke rehabilitation ward Bargoed ward in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr. We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse who possesses strong leadership skills to support our team. The Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager will work in close partnership with the Band 7 Clinical Lead and the multidisciplinary teams, supporting the ethos of collaborative working, minimising stress for both patients and staff, and maximising the provision of high quality evidence based care.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a high level of nursing assessment and clinical care skills, supporting others in their professional development.
- Assist with the leadership of the unit, gaining experience in improving management skills by supporting staff through sickness, undertaking PADR’s, leading improvement projects and liaising with bed management to maintain patient flow.
- Deliver on strategic goals regarding safety, quality, performance, and financial agendas.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Meets NMC Professional qualification.
Experience
- Sufficient acute medical nursing experience.
- Previous Band 6 experience (desirable).
