We are seeking motivated and reliable Facilities Operatives to join our Facilities team across our Monmouthshire/Blaenau Gwent Sites within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. This is a varied and essential support role, helping to ensure our hospitals run safely, efficiently and compassionately.

Responsibilities

  • Domestic services: delivering high standards of cleaning across patient and non-patient areas, working to agreed cleaning schedules and outcome‑based standards, carrying out routine, specialist, discharge and rapid‑response cleaning, and safely using cleaning equipment, machinery and approved chemicals.
  • Catering duties: preparing basic food items such as sandwiches, salads and beverages, picking and packing regeneration food trollies, monitoring and recording all food temperatures, maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and infection control, following policies and procedures, cleaning kitchens, ward pantries and service areas, supporting retail catering services including till operation and customer service, maintaining stock levels and safe storage of provisions, equipment and materials, and working closely with clinical teams and Facilities colleagues.

You will be expected to work flexibly across services and cover a 7‑day rota, including weekends and bank holidays.

Shift Pattern and Pay

In addition to the basic salary, the following Agenda for Change unsocial hours enhancements apply:

  • Nights (8.00pm - 6.00am): Time + 41%
  • All day Saturday: Time + 41%
  • All day Sunday (and Public Holidays): Time + 83%
