Job Overview

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities Team as a Facilities Operative in Domestic Services at St. Woolos Hospital in Newport.

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual who is committed to enhancing the patient & customer experience. Therefore, you must have a passion for providing a high level of customer service.

The working hours will be Monday – Friday 17:00 – 20:00 (15 hours per week).

Main duties of the job

The duties within each function will be set out in the relevant job schedules. The assignment of these duties will meet the priority needs and demands of the service as identified by the manager/supervisor. The post-holder will therefore be expected to take a flexible approach to their duties and must also be able to cover rosters. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Education and Training

Essential criteria

  • Basic general education
  • Literate & Numerate
  • Willingness to undertake & complete the ABUHB facilities competency workbook (within 6 months)
  • Willingness to undertake & complete statutory & mandatory training including Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Willingness to undertake future training as required by the post

Desirable criteria

  • BIFM/NVQ level 2
  • Experience of working in a healthcare or hospitality environment
