Job Overview
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Operative working within Domestic Services. This post is based in the Satellite Radiotherapy Unit (SRU) in Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny.
We are looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals who are committed to enhancing the patient & customer experience, therefore you must have a passion for providing a high level of customer service.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
The post-holder will undertake a range of specific work functions across the Facilities service.
The Working Hours Are Below
Post 1 – 20 hours per week – 16:00 – 20:00 Monday to Friday
Post 2 – 32.5 hours per week – 13:00 – 20:00 Monday to Friday
Main duties of the job
The duties within each function will be set out in the relevant job schedules. The assignment of these duties will meet the priority needs and demands of the service as identified by the manager/supervisor. The post-holder will therefore be expected to take a flexible approach to their duties, and must also be able to cover rosters. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Education & Training
Essential criteria include basic education, literacy & numeracy skills, willingness to undertake facilities competency workbooks, statutory & mandatory training, and future training as required.
Desirable criteria include BIFM/NVQ level 2.
Knowledge & Experience
Experience of working in healthcare or hospitality environments is essential.
Skills
Effective communication, following instructions, maintaining standards, dependability, working under pressure, teamwork, motivation, customer care, and positive organizational representation are essential skills.
Abilities
Physical manual handling ability, mental resilience under pressure, concentration, emotional resilience for handling deceased, and ability to work in cleaning conditions involving bodily fluids.
