Job Overview

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has exciting opportunities to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Operative working in Catering at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny.

We are looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals who are committed to enhancing the patient & customer experience, therefore must have a passion for providing a high level of customer service.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

The post requires the post-holder to be flexible in the performance of their duties, within the Kitchen/Catering service.

This post is 24 hours per week to be worked 07:00 – 13:30 and 12:30-19:00 as part of a rota.

Main duties of the job

The duties within each function will be set out in the relevant job schedules. The assignment of these duties will meet the priority needs and demands of the service as identified by the manager/supervisor. The post-holder will therefore be expected to take a flexible approach to their duties, and must also be able to cover rosters. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

• Experience of undertaking a facilities role

Knowledge & Training

Essential criteria

• Good basic education
• Level 2 Food Safety or requirement to attain
• Willingness to undertake accredited & mandatory training relevant to the role

Desirable criteria

• Basic IT skills
• Spoken or written Welsh language
• NVQ level 1/2 in Facilities Services and/or Customer Services
