Overview
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team as an Engineering Maintenance Assistant based at the Grange University Hospital.
We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to assist skilled tradespeople, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
The successful applicant will support the maintenance and estates team in ensuring the efficient operation, repair, and upkeep of NHS buildings, facilities, and equipment.
This post involves working shifts as part of an internal shift pattern.
The post holder will have a good understanding of many of the engineering systems utilised throughout the healthcare environment and strive to develop this understanding by following a structured development program.
The post holder will have a basic understanding of the operational policies and procedures utilised throughout the department and the organisation and strive to develop this understanding by following a structured development program.
The post holder will be required to be proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools, they will also be expected to safely operate a variety of test instrumentation after receiving appropriate training.
They will be able to respond to routine and non-routine breakdown requests and carry out basic fault finding techniques on a variety of engineering systems and engineering plant in order to carry out electrical, mechanical or building repairs.
