Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner to join our expanding Theatre Scrub Team at the new Specialist and Critical Care Centre. The Grange University Hospital will provide a centre of excellence in Gwent to treat the most seriously ill patients or those with significant injuries.

Main duties of the job

The theatre department provides a 7 day 24 hour service, with occasional weekends, nights and support for other theatre departments within ABUHB. The department undertakes both emergency and elective procedures, covering General Surgery, ENT, Vascular, Obstetrics, Max Fax, Gynaecology, CEPOD and Trauma. Newly appointed candidates will undertake a comprehensive training programme supported by a designated theatre Practice Educator. Welsh language skills are desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMC registration or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with HCPC registration.

Experience

  • Theatre experience.

  • Efficient use of equipment and materials.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ABUHB policy and procedures.
