Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking professional, motivated and customer-focused Security Officers to join our dedicated Security Team based at Grange University Hospital.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Night shifts: 19:00 – 07:30. Working between 2 and 4 shifts per week on a rolling rota. Includes weekends and bank holidays as required.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job:- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols across the hospital site.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms and emergency situations.
- Prevent, deter and investigate criminal activity and security breaches.
- Support clinical staff in the management of challenging situations and aggressive behaviour.
- Assist with fire alarm activations and emergency procedures.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records.
- Liaise with external agencies including Police, Fire and Ambulance Services.
- Provide advice and support to staff, patients and visitors on security-related matters.

Qualifications And Knowledge:- Good basic education e.g GCSE or equivalent.
- Knowledge acquired through on the job training and experience i.e. restraint, breakaway techniques, SITO qualification.
- Experience of working in a front‑line security position with direct contact with clients or transferable experience from another frontline role.
- Able to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
- Ability to work on own initiative and minimum supervision.
- Excellent communicator (both verbal and written).
- Ability to carry out several different tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
