We are looking for someone with a passion for OD to role model our organisational values, to provide support and leadership in the development and implementation of the OD elements of our People Plan. This role is varied and interesting. The successful candidate will lead on the Health Board’s core learning and OD provision including Organisational Induction, Statutory & Mandatory training, along with other related OD projects.
You will be joining a talented team, whose focus is on the delivery of excellent services to employees, visitors and service users of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. We promote agile working. Main duties of the job
- Manage and deliver an effective and efficient Learning and OD provision for non-medical education and training across the organisation.
- Develop planned programmes of work in conjunction with learning and development/OD practitioners, managers, Head of OD and agreed parameters in our People Plan.
- Develop and monitor work streams and provide timely reports against all key objectives aligned to this role and our People Plan.
- Lead on the Health Board’s core learning provision including Organisational Induction, Statutory & Mandatory training and key programmes of work.
- Lead on the design, delivery and evaluation of learning offers aligned to organisational need, making recommendations for improvement.
- Regularly facilitate learning and OD workshops and interventions aligned to service and organisational need.
- Design, manage and evaluate specific projects within Learning and OD.
- Support senior OD practitioners in OD interventional work.
- Provide line management to team members, aligned to all Wales compassionate leadership principles and our organisational values.
- Enable the provision of an effective digital learning offer. This will include coaching, resource planning, performance management, appraisals and support with team and individual development.
- Design marketing and promotional materials and promote through relevant digital platforms and networks.
Qualifications and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Appropriate Professional Registration or equivalent experience.
- Relevant education to Masters Level or experience.
- Knowledge of the wider NHS & multi sector organisation relating to OD.
- Understanding of current national drivers influencing service development and education.
Desirable criteria
- Recognised teaching/ L&D or OD qualification.
- Project management qualification.

- Excellent L&D design, delivery & evaluation experience.
- Planning learning programmes.
- Proven experience in leading/implementing a project.
- Experience of working in partnership across professional areas & organisations.
Desirable criteria
- Data analysis, planning and management.
- ESR & OLM superuser/admin user.
- Management of successful change / Line management.
Skills and attributes
Essential criteria
- Facilitation knowledge and skills.
- Ability to organise own and others workload.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS packages (eg MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint).

- ECDL / IT GCSE.
- Budgetary management.
