The Deputy Head of Nursing Education, Development & Regulation plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering the strategic education, workforce development and professional regulation agenda across the Health Board.
Working in partnership with senior nursing, workforce and education leaders, the post holder will lead the development of innovative, evidence-based learning programmes, workforce pathways and professional practice initiatives that support the attraction, development and retention of a highly skilled nursing and midwifery workforce.
The role provides expert leadership on education, professional standards and regulatory matters, whilst deputising for the Head of Nursing Education, Development & Regulation and contributing to the wider corporate nursing agenda.
This post is a fixed term/secondment for 5 months until 4th February 2027 due to secondment cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide strategic leadership for nursing and midwifery education, development and workforce planning, ensuring programmes align with national priorities, organisational objectives and professional standards. Responsibilities include leading service redesign and educational innovation, developing and implementing workforce and career development strategies, managing education budgets and resources, overseeing governance and professional regulation processes, and leading organisational and national projects. The role will also involve managing and developing senior education staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, research and innovation, building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and development opportunities that enable excellence in patient care.
